The Process

Design: Most clients have a feel for the size and general layout that they desire in a home, but often do not have a set of plans in hand. As the owner of the company, I will arrange and attend meetings with you and the architect to plan your dream home. As a group we can transform your requirements into a cohesive set of blueprints that meets your space and budget needs.

Selections: Once the design has been completed, we will meet a number of times to discuss the materials to be used in the construction of the home. A very thorough list of specifications will be documented, detailing everything from external wall covering to internal trim, floors, countertops, landscaping, appliances and much more.

Permitting: After the plan has been fully approved with selections, a price has been agreed upon and a contract signed by all parties, I will file for the permits with the county/city building department. This process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to four weeks depending on the county or city involved.

Construction: Once permits are issued, the land will be cleared and graded and construction will begin. Whether it is a full remodel, addition, or custom home, the process proceeds quickly. Communication between both parties on a continuous basis during construction is essential to meeting your needs and maintaining the production schedule. During this phase you are encouraged to visit the work site, ask questions and verify that you are pleased with the progress thus far.

Final walk through: Once construction is completed and inspected by the county/city a certificate of occupancy will be issued. I will accompany you through the new home on many occasions to insure that all issues/concerns both mechanical and cosmetic have been noted and corrected to your satisfaction. A “punch list” of items will be documented and then signed off as acceptable by you when completed to your satisfaction.

Follow-up: I will be in close contact with you before, during and after the move in process to insure that you are totally pleased with your new home. My successful business relies upon your total satisfaction and your positive references to future clients. A standard warranty period of one year is included and detailed in the builder/client contract.
